After your treatment

After-Care Advice

After your treatment it is important that you follow the guidelines we have made for you in order for you to get the most out of your treatment and allow the changes to begin to establish a new balanced level of health.

  1. You may feel a little tired, slightly drowsy or dizzy after treatment, so please take care and allow time for you settle before driving home.

  2. Please refrain from vigorous exercise after treatment, exercise is fine but be gentle. Try to lower the intensity of the exercise you do for the rest of the day.

  3. ideally give yourself a little time to rest as it allows your body to continue making the changes  the treatment has started. Resting will allow you physical and emotional restoration that acupuncture sets in motion to continue.

  4. Cupping and gua sha can leave temporary marks on the skin. It is painless and generally clears with a few days but please avoid direct sunlight on the area that has been worked on for at least 48 hours

  5. AGAIN, avoid coffee and alcohol as they can counteract the effects of your acupuncture/Tui na treatment. Avoid it for at least 24 hours after treatment as it over stimulates your energy.

  6. Please take note of how you feel, if you notice any changes in any of your symptoms keep a record of how long they last for and what they were, as this will help us to guide how your treatments are going and how often you need to come for treatment.

  7. Try to ensure you drink enough water as it helps your body to continue cleansing and detoxing your body after treatment.

  8. Acupuncture and Tui Na can take a lot out of you as the changes the acupuncture has started takes a lot out of your body even if you don’t feel it.

  9. Try to follow the advice given to you by Us in your treatment as you help your body to continue working towards finding balance by adjusting sometimes just a few key things.

  10. However rare, if your symptoms continue to worsen please contact us immediately or seek advice from your GP.
